News about Rahane

TODAY'S NEWS

Not taking the Knight Riders lightly, says Rahane

Rajasthan Royal’s opening bat, Ajinkya Rahane said his team was not taking Kolkata Knight Riders lightly in Friday’s IPL VI match at the Eden Gardens.
The defending champion faces an improbable task of winning five out of the six remaining games to make it to the play-offs.
“Playing KKR in Kolkata is a big challenge. It is a good side, an experienced side. We do not want to take it lightly. We hope to give off our best,” he said at the pre-match press conference.'

‘Dravid doing a great job’
Rahane said his captain Rahul Dravid backed his boys well.
“He is backing all of us. He is doing a great job as a captain. Everyone is supporting him very well. He is batting superbly and we just want him to bat like this and play some match-winning knocks for us,” he said.
“Still, we have seven games play and if we qualify we will get two or three more, so it is a good sign.”

‘Great move’
Asked about promoting Sanju Samson to No. 3 slot where he scored a match-winning 63 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rahane said: “That was Rahul bhai’s decision to promote him. It was a great move.”
Rahane contended that tall off-spinner Ajit Chandila had the quality to do well.
“He has got some variations. I think he will trouble the batsmen in the coming days,” he added.
